Vans Is Launching Their First Ever Global Collection!

I’m sure almost everyone would own at least a pair of Vans sneakers growing up. And we are super excited to see this new global collaboration with Opening Ceremony.

Launching February 26th, across Asia-Pacific, with the collection being available online on the vans website as well as in the new Newmarket store.

Opening Ceremony – established in 2002, is a creative, multi-brand retailer that is motivated by principles of exploration and friendship. The brand continues to celebrate many unique and diverse perspectives of people and countries around the world.

Opening Ceremony founders, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have amplified voices and pushed boundaries that often reach far beyond the fashion world.

“Vans has been a long-time creative partner of ours, and we’re so excited to collaborate on their iconic print this season,” said Leon.

“For this new capsule collection, Carol and I are inspired to reinvent the checkerboard, taking a new graphic approach to Vans’ classic pattern.”

The iconic pattern has been reinvented by Opening Ceremony founders with an abstract snake and leopard patterns seen across apparel and footwear. Moreover, using Van’s original deck shoe, the Authentic, as their canvas, Opening Ceremony has created an all-over repeat pattern that highlights the positive and negative space.

The repeat leopard pattern is featured on an assortment of apparel, including a track suit-inspired jacket. The Vans x OC leopard pant boasts a relaxed fit with welt pockets and a zipper flap. The leopard assortment is complemented by a leopard printed tote that is filled with soft padding, emblazoned with a novelty rubber Vans x OC patch.

The second delivery of footwear takes an elevated approach using monochromatic uppers in orchid and baja blue. Each shoe is finished with an Opening Ceremony woven patch on the heel.
