Based on the true story and an extremely unwanted and unexpected friendship, the film Victoria & Abdul follows Queen Victoria at the end of her rule when she meets Abdul Karim by chance. Abdul is surprised to find favour with the Queen, but jumps at the opportunity to make a good impression. The two build an unlikely alliance while the household attempt to get rid of him.
I am very into royal shows such as Crown, Reign and so on, so I was super into this from the get-go. However, I did briefly not believe parts of the story and it kind of went weird in some of the scenes… but otherwise a very sweet friendship that you really only get once in a lifetime.
