After delighting Auckland cat lovers earlier this year, Fancy Feast and award-winning French pastry chef Benjamin Chevré have reunited for International Cat Day.
Following strong demand after its March debut, the unique dessert collaboration returns to Little French Pastry Café on Saturday, the 8th of August.
Benjamin Chevré will recreate the Fancy Feast Gems-inspired dessert for cat lovers to enjoy, paired with a Fancy Feast Gems for your feline friend. He said bringing the dessert back for International Cat Day was an easy decision.
Featuring a dark chocolate mousse coated in dark cocoa nappage, sitting on a crisp biscuit streusel and topped with a caramel jelly dome, the dessert paid homage to the product’s distinctive pyramid shape and layered design.
“When we first created this dessert, we wanted to transform the unique design of Fancy Feast Gems into something unexpected,” said Benjamin Chevré.
“We were blown away by the response, so when the opportunity came to bring it back for International Cat Day, we couldn’t say no. It’s a fun way to celebrate great pâtisserie, thoughtful design and, most importantly, the special bond between cats and their owners this International Cat Day. ”
Stephanie Pritchett, Head of Marketing at Purina New Zealand, added that the collaboration was about creating a memorable moment that both cats and their owners could enjoy.
The one-day-only return is part of Fancy Feast’s International Cat Day celebrations, encouraging Kiwi cat owners to celebrate the special bond they share with their feline companions.
Customers who purchase the limited-edition dessert from Little French Pastry (Point Chevalier and Mount Albert) will also receive a complimentary Fancy Feast Gems product to take home for their cat.
