We all know by now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a highly detailed game with a lot of thoughtful designs. One of them is a surprise birthday party! At the beginning of the game, you will be required to enter your name, island shape, and birthday. Be careful what you decide because it cannot be changed once you start the game.
Let’s get straight into it! A week before your birthday, check the bulletin board outside the Resident Services. A special post will be up there to let everyone know your birthday is coming up. On the day, Isabelle will announce the birthday during the morning report. As soon as you walk out the door, one of your villagers will be waiting outside and ask you to come to their house.
Once you have reached the resident’s home, two other villagers will also be there with the house decorated with balloons, party food, and a happy birthday message. The villagers will all be dressed up for the party and together, celebrate your birthday with you.
They will sing happy birthday to you and then followed by a hit-the-piñata mini game. Ten cupcakes will fall out of the piñata once you break it and remember do not eat it (we’ve learned it the hard way). Give the cupcakes to your animal villagers and they will give you a birthday gift in return! The party will stay on until you leave the house, so remember to take lots of photos and videos!
Go back to your house after the surprise party and you will find out “Mom” has sent you a birthday cake and candles through the post and it’s also a Nook Mile achievement. Our suggestion is to not miss out on the gameplay on your birthday or you might just miss out on all these goodies on the day! Especially during times like this, it may just lift your spirits!
