Iconic denim brand, Levi’s, has collaborated with ERL to pay homage to the casual, sunfaded energy of California.
Launched by renowned designer Eli Russell Linnetz in 2020, ERL is a Venice Beach-based fashion brand that quickly made waves in the fashion industry by blending pop art aesthetics with surf and skate culture.
Together, these two Californian brands have reinterpreted iconic Levi’s designs to capture the effortlessly cool essence of California and share it with the world.
For bottoms, the collection features a reimagined pair of 501 jeans that offer a unique take on the shape of the jean with slits up the side of the leg. The Levi’s x ERL Stay Loose offers a frayed waistband on a breathable pair of jeans. The collection includes a mini skirt that looks like a cut pair of light, washed-out indigo five-pocket jeans.
Matching denim tops give the Levis x ERL collection a sense of consistency that allows pieces to be mixed and matched. The Levi’s x ERL Sherpa Tucker offers a shorter, boxier fit when compared to the Levi’s x ERL Duster Trucker, which elongates the look. A slightly heavier Levi’s x ERL Overshirt is a simple yet elegant top that can be worn with just about anything. The Levi’s x ERL Denim Top offers a more fitted look. Finally, the collection includes a beautiful Levi’s x ERL Heritage Dress that drapes and flows into a high-volume skirt. Throughout the collection, an embroidered neon ERL logo appears at random places on the garments, offering a unique sense of spontaneity.
Linnetz describes the collection as grunge and casual with a lot of skater energy, perfect for everyday wear.
The Levi’s x ERL collection was photographed on a cast of siblings and friends, bringing to life the sun-kissed vibe of a Californian, Americana family. The collection launches worldwide in early September.
