Inspired by the golden glow that settles over the Caribbean at sunset, the Gazelle Indoor Solar Gold marked the newest colourway in the ongoing adidas Originals and Bad Bunny partnership.
Drawing on themes of growth, change, and evolution that have long shaped Bad Bunny’s creative journey, the Solar Gold edition brought a new palette to one of the partnership’s most iconic silhouettes.
Crafted with a premium, rich honey-yellow suede upper, elevated leather lining, and a classic gum outsole marked with adidas’ signature three stripes, the elevated materials deliver a timeless finish to a beloved profile.
Since first reimagining the classic adidas Originals silhouette in 2024, Bad Bunny and adidas Originals have used the franchise as a canvas to tell deeply personal stories rooted in Puerto Rico; stories about place, identity, memory, and home.
The journey began with the “San Juan” Blue Gazelle, paying tribute to Benito’s native Puerto Rico, and inspired by Casa Amadeo, the first Puerto Rican music shop and oldest continuously operating Latin music store in New York City. The sneaker celebrated the enduring cultural exchange between Puerto Rico and its diaspora, setting the tone for future drops.
In 2025, Bad Bunny and adidas expanded their storytelling through the Gazelle City Series, released during the Puerto Rican Residency, a collection spotlighting three distinct corners of the island.
Gazelle “El Yunque” honoured the lush biodiversity of the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System with deep green tones; Gazelle “Santurce” arrived in vivid orange, capturing the neighbourhood’s role as the epicentre of Puerto Rican music, dance, and contemporary artistic expression.
Gazelle “Cabo Rojo” emerged in vibrant pink, inspired by the region’s famous salt flats and rare pink waters, while celebrating the resilience and spirit of a community that continues to thrive.
Echoing the sentiment of No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí, the campaign featured Puerto Rican elders, the keepers of the island’s stories, memories, and heart.
More than a sneaker, the Gazelle franchise is a defining silhouette of the adidas Originals and Bad Bunny partnership, a storytelling platform that connected Benito’s personal memories with global cultural narratives. The Gazelle Indoor Solar Gold honours that legacy while looking forward to what comes next.
