Cats Take Over School Holidays

Kiwi cat lovers can come face-to-face with Oscar, New Zealand’s newest, clever cat, in a larger-than-life interactive experience popping up at Westfield Albany Shopping Centre.

The first of its kind in New Zealand, an interactive large-screen digital experience will bring the fun as Oscar mimics people’s movements with his own clever cat antics.

Designed to delight and entertain families of all ages during the April school holidays, Oscar will demonstrate just how cheeky he can be to get his paws on his dinner.

New Zealanders have more cats per capita than any other country in the world, and whether they’re doing clever things or racing around the house, each has its own unique and playful personality. Designed for the clever and mischievous Kiwi cat, the Oscar range from Purina offers delicious cat food meals specially prepared with tender meaty pieces in a succulent jelly.

Recent research from Purina Petcare reveals the majority of New Zealanders (around 70 percent) think their cat is very clever. Respondents also agreed delicious food is the key to clever cats’  hearts, with 69 percent saying their cats are particularly mischievous when doing clever tricks to get their paws on dinner.

Purina Head of Marketing New Zealand, Mark White said that the Oscar brand recognises that New Zealand cats are unique characters.

“We found that 97 percent of cat owners admitted they absolutely love their feline friends, cheeky tricks and all. We can’t wait for the whole family to get up close and personal with Oscar at this first-of-its-kind interactive experience, to find out how much fun he really is,”

Free to all cat lovers and their families, New Zealand’s first clever cat experience will run from Thursday, April 20th until Sunday, April 23rd at Westfield Albany Shopping Centre, with activities for the whole family.
