Celebrate Over Six Decades Of Beach Boys!

Founding Beach Boys Member Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band will bring The Beach Boys’ magic to New Zealand.

Al Jardine and the 11-piece Pet Sounds Band, personally put together with the late, great Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, will be celebrating American Independence Day weekend in New Zealand.

Joined by the Pet Sounds Band, the show celebrates over six decades of Beach Boys music and features music by Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, known as America’s Band!

Audiences can expect timeless favourites including California Girls, Help Me Rhonda, and Wouldn’t It Be Nice, alongside deeper cuts and rare gems from the 1970s.

Featuring Al’s son Matt Jardine on vocals, the performance honours Brian Wilson’s extraordinary legacy while celebrating the unmistakable harmonies and spirit of The Beach Boys.

Expect classics like Good Vibrations, God Only Knows, Don’t Worry Baby, and Surf’s Up from The Beach Boys’ legendary unreleased masterpiece SMiLE!

A little bit of history: after Al’s family moved to Hawthorne, California, in the mid-50’s, he met Brian, Carl, Dennis Wilson, and Mike Love to form the band in 1961.

Al played guitar, arranged and produced many songs and sang lead on the No. 1 hit Help Me, Rhonda. In 1988, Al was inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Beach Boys and in 2001, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award Grammy.

Al released his first studio album, A Postcard from California, in 2010, which was recently re-released worldwide by Universal Music, and a new four-track EP, Islands In The Sun, in 2025, which includes guest appearances from Neil Young and Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

In 2026, Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band perform the classic hits and rarities in a tribute to the late Brian Wilson. It’s a show that promises to keep the good vibes and beautiful harmonies of The Beach Boys’ timeless music alive for many more years!
