Disney+ Launch New ‘MPower’ Series

Disney+ has debuted its new series “MPower,” an inside look at some of the most powerful women heroes in the Marvel universe.

The series consists of four episodes, featuring characters from ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Captain Marvel,’ ‘X-Men’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ and aims to spotlight several inspirational role models.

Executive producer, Justin W. Hochberg said he made the series for his daughter, so she would have more icons to look up to.

“Today, that vision is now a reality thanks to Brie Larsen, Elizabeth Olsen, the women of Wakanda and Zoë Saldaña, whose leadership was ‘Mpowering.’”

Producers of the show said that it is a tribute to women’s representation, and that they are enthused to have been involved with a diverse group of women in the production process. Actress, Zoë Saldaña is also an executive producer of the series, and said that she hoped that it will ignite meaningful conversions and drive real change towards a more equal and inclusive world.

Archival footage and imaginative animation are frequently used in the series, as too are candid interviews with producers and cast members from the respective films. Executive producer, Mark Herzog said that launching the series was an exciting experience, and believes the show will have a lasting legacy.

“We sincerely hope that the series will empower girls and women all over the world to be their authentic selves in their lives and in their careers.”

‘MPower’ is now streaming on Disney+.
