DOUBLE DUTCH TAKES TAKAPUNA

Auckland food lovers just can’t seem to get enough of European-style chips. Following the success of their two-month pop-up café in Takapuna, Double Dutch Fries has opened up a permanent store.

Owner, Timothy Van der Werff has been operating out of a shipping container and through a fleet of mobile chip stands for the past three years to sell his authentic hand-cut fries.

Served in a cone, the popular chips come loaded with toppings like red onion, satay sauce, and mayonnaise – or a combination of all three. Alongside its signature fries, the eatery will also serve coffee and other traditional snacks from the Netherlands.

The stores new home is the same as its temporary location, down Takapuna’s food lane Fortieth and Hurstmere.

Open Monday to Sunday 11 am to 9 pm be sure to check out Double Dutch Fries new fit out at 40 Hurstmere Road.
