Dr Martens x MadeMe With Lola Young

Founder of MadeMe Erin Magee often found inspiration in the femme-forward, outspoken “it girl” associated with wearing Dr Martens boots. She always wanted to collaborate on a steel-toe DM shoe, as it represented a beautiful contradiction, just like the MadeMe girl.

Since its launch in 2007, MadeMe has evolved into a widely recognised New York brand. It has created an inclusive community and challenged the male-dominated streetwear industry.

At the same time, Dr Martens has been known for being at the forefront of disruptive fashion.

“I’ve known Erin for a long time, so it was great to finally bring this collaboration to life. In many ways, our collaboration was inevitable,” said Darren Mckoy, Dr Martens’ Global Creative Director.

“MadeMe occupies the same rebellious space in women’s fashion that DM’s boots have always had. It was great to reinvent that heritage for a new generation.”

The 1461 3-eye shoe has been constructed on the Quad sole, featuring Dr Martens’ signature yellow welt stitching and grooving pattern. It is offered in black Vintage Smooth leather with black laces or silver Alumix with purple laces, both with a steel toe cap with a heart-shaped cut-out.

Unapologetic, bold, and genuine, the connection in spirit between Dr Martens and MadeMe was undeniable. London-based singer-songwriter Lola Young embodied this attitude of the quintessential MadeMe girl for the campaign.

The Dr Martens x MadeMe collection will be available from the 24th of May.
