Set in the near future, in California’s new and groundbreaking ‘Grand Lottery’, where the winner must be eliminated before sundown to claim the multi-billion dollar jackpot.
When Katie Kim, portrayed by Awkwafina, relocates to Los Angeles, she mistakenly discovers she holds the winning ticket. Faced with the daunting task of evading the numerous jackpot hunters, she reluctantly teams up with the inexperienced lottery protection agent, Noel Cassidy, played by John Cena.
Noel is determined to ensure that Katie remains safe until sundown in exchange for a share of her prize. However, their plans are complicated by the arrival of Noel’s suave rival, Louis Lewis, portrayed by Simu Liu, who is equally determined to secure Katie’s jackpot.
