Power changes everything. The final trailer has just been released before the Season Two premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
It revealed Middle-earth in the throes of discord, sown by Sauron, and the deception and manipulation that led to crafting more of the titular Rings of Power. Unlikely alliances are forged amidst fire, and true friendships are tested.
Dangers no longer lurk in shadow but slither their way into the light. Weighty decisions rest on the shoulders of the realms of Eregion, Khazad-dûm, Lindon, Númenor, and the lands in between, as the safety and peace of these kingdoms hang in the balance.
This season includes the long-awaited Siege of Eregion, a definitive battle in J.R.R. Tolkien’s history of the Second Age of Middle-earth, from which not everyone makes it out alive. The banners have been raised, and the devastating war against Sauron is just beginning.
In Season Two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without an army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, allowing him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.
Building on Season One’s epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world increasingly on the brink of calamity.
Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots—as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all each other.
The first three episodes of Season Two of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on the 29th of August, and new episodes will be released weekly until the finale in October.
