Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Saltburn, Priscilla) joined director Justin Kurzel (The Order and Nitram), screenwriter Shaun Grant (Nitram and Snowtown), and Curio’s Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner on the red carpet at the world premiere of the Australian Original series The Narrow Road to the Deep North at the Berlin International Film Festival.
The highly anticipated premiere of the first two of a five-part Australian Original limited series was screened to a packed house at Zoo Palast 1.
Filmed in NSW, Australia, The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a savagely beautiful five-part series charting the life of Dorrigo Evans (played by Jacob Elordi as a young man, with Ciarán Hinds as the older Dorrigo) through his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney (Odessa Young), his time held captive in a POW camp, and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero.
It is an intimate character study of a complex man, a compelling portrayal of the courage and cruelty of war, and an unforgettable love story that sustains one through the darkest times.
Other cast members include Olivia DeJonge, Heather Mitchell, Thomas Weatherall, Show Kasamatsu, Taki Abe, and Simon Baker.
The series is produced by Curio Pictures and will be distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television. Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner from Curio Pictures executive produce.
Richard Flanagan, Shaun Grant and Justin Kurzel are executive producers, with Alexandra Taussig as producer.
The series is based on Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name and will launch on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand and Canada on the 18th of April 2025.
