Language barrier? No problem

Renowned cosmetics brand Lush has just made shopping significantly easier with the opening of its first language-free concept store in Japan.

Located in the Shinjuku district, the store caters to all customers, local or foreign, by replacing words with digital functions including interactive walls and app-controlled lighting.

The stores AI technology allows customers to select and locate their favourite products while diminishing the struggle of a language barrier.

Tech R&D manager Adam Goswell from Lush Japan said the Shinjuku store boasts as the ideal retail experience.

“Importantly, it was the first time our tech warriors and brand and shop design teams collaborated to create a retail space in a digital age,” Goswell said.

The impressive Shinjuku store is also the largest Lush retailer in Asia and is spread across four floors.
