Prime Video, Guesswork Television, and OK Great Productions announced that Australian actor Luke Hemsworth will join Deadloch.
Hemsworth will appear alongside lead cast members Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama, and Alicia Gardiner in Season Two of the Prime Video global hit series Deadloch.
In the new season, Dulcie and Eddie are in Darwin investigating the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy. When a body is discovered in a remote town, they are flung into a new, sweatier, stickier investigation.
Created and written by powerhouse comedy minds Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, Luke Hemsworth will play Jason Wade, creator and star of ‘Jason Wade’s Adventures Down Under’ and the owner of ‘Jason Wade’s Land of Crocs and Other Animals’ Wildlife Park.
Having completed filming in the Northern Territory, production has now moved to Queensland, utilising the Brisbane studios and, for cast safety, the less crocodile-infested waters.
“Luke Hemsworth is joining our cast as croc-wrangling Territory icon Jason Wade. We’re feeling very happy with ourselves about this because he’s perfect. It’s perfect casting,” said Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan.
Previously announced new cast members include Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Jean Tong, Genevieve Morris, Byron Coll, Nikki Britton, Anthony J Sharpe, Blake Pavey, Damien Garvey, Ngali Shaw, Bev Killick, Ling Cooper-Tang, Ursula Yovich, Syd Brisbane, Ines English and Lennox Monaghan.
Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan created and wrote Deadloch Season Two. They also serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Whyte and Tanya Phegan from Guesswork Television.
Andy Walker produces, and Beck Cole and Gracie Otto direct the series. Guesswork Television, OK Great Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios produce Deadloch.
Deadloch Season Two is financed with the assistance of Screen Territory through its Production Attraction Incentive Program and proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
Since 2019, Prime Video has commissioned 30 Australian Original series and features in Australia.
