MAC X STEVE AND YONI

MAC Cosmetics are known for their high-profile collaborations which are often the origin of unique new shades.  Their latest collaboration is with the popular Korean design team (who are also husband-and-wife) Steve J. and Yoni P.  MAC x Steve and Yoni evokes the unashamed originality of Seoul street style and is inspired by their own lives, the mood of their brand and local street art.  As for partnering with MAC, it is somewhat of a natural progression – Yoni has long been a fan and collector of MAC’s collaborations, and Steve and Yoni have previously partnered with MAC for their Steve and Yoni brand fashion shows.  However, the creation of the MAC x Steve and Yoni collection has been no small feat; and includes fully original packaging which fitted with the aesthetic Steve and Yoni wanted.  Lipstick was an important part of the development of the collection, as lipstick is a staple for so many consumers, including Yoni.  The collection includes four lipsticks, in bright pink, fuchsia and red, and also includes blushes and eyeshadows in poppy shades of pink – this fits with the colour palette of the collection and the packaging.  Steve and Yoni chose to use pink, yellow and black packaging due to Yoni’s yellow hair, signature black eyeliner and favourite colour (pink).  MAC x Steve and Yoni is designed for the girl with a strong sense of self, and a carefree attitude.
