When family life is fast-paced (and when is it not!?), it can be easy to lose what connects us.
Silly Qs helps families come together and connect through silly play and lots of laughter.
Created in collaboration with child development experts, Silly Qs was designed for children ages 5–10 and their whole families. It brings joy to players of most ages and developmental levels.
Families play together answering quirky questions, doing hilarious tasks, and interacting with the game’s lovable mascots, the Silly Qrew. Screen-free fun supports social-emotional growth, communication skills, and family bonding.
“We’re so honoured to have Silly Qs win at The Pavs,” said Kylie Williams, parent and founder of Silly Play Co.
“We created this tabletop game to give families a way to genuinely connect – to engage and be silly, build empathy and make memories. To be recognised by New Zealand’s game development community means so much.”
The game uses ‘scaffolding’. Children develop various skills through play, needing less adult support over time. It’s carefully crafted to be flexible for different developmental levels and can be played repeatedly as your child grows.
And the game’s impact is being noticed. Silly Qs has taken home honours at the 2025 Pavs – New Zealand’s premier game awards – winning The Accessible Ambrosia: Excellence in Accessibility award.
Recognised for its all-ages appeal, developmental impact, and innovation, the game is making waves as the game that brings families together to connect, laugh out loud, and bond over silliness.
With this award in the cabinet, Silly Qs stands out in a growing game movement that blends fun with purpose.
