Speak No Evil This September

Universal Pictures has released the official second trailer for Speak No Evil. From the production house Blumhouse, known for The Black Phone, Get Out, and The Invisible Man, comes a gripping suspense thriller set in the modern age.

The movie features the talented James McAvoy (known for Split and Glass) in an intriguing role as the charismatic owner of the estate, whose seemingly generous hospitality conceals a dark truth.

The story revolves around an American family who accepts an invitation to spend a weekend at the country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation. This seemingly perfect holiday quickly turns into a complex psychological ordeal.

The film also stars Mackenzie Davis (from Terminator: Dark Fate and Halt and Catch Fire) and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy (known for Argo and A Quiet Place Part II) as Louise and Ben Dalton, an American couple.

They, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes, accept the invitation to Paddy and Ciara’s weekend holiday, played by Aisling Franciosi (from Game of Thrones and The Fall) and James McAvoy. They are joined by their enigmatic son Ant, played by newcomer Dan Hough.

The writer-director, James Watkins, based the movie on the screenplay of the 2022 Danish horror film Gæsterne, written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. The film received 11 Danish Film Awards nominations.

Speak No Evil is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Paul Ritchie and executive produced by Beatriz Sequeira for Blumhouse, Jacob Jarek, and Christian Tafdrup.

The film will be released in cinemas on the 12th of September.
