Tees For A Cure

Eden Park is set to glow pink as it turns into a runway for a unique fashion show for Breast Cancer Cure’s ninth Tees for a Cure Campaign.

The event will showcase t-shirt designs from 25 well-known Kiwi labels, including Trelise Cooper, Karen Walker, Kathryn Wilson, and Zambesi, on a specially designed runway positioned on Eden Park’s number 1 field.

Breast Cancer Cure CEO Sonja de Mari said it’s the first time the iconic venue will host a fashion experience like this.

“Eden Park hasn’t seen anything like this before. Not only will the stadium light up pink, but we’re also aiming to blow everyone away by replacing rugby boots with stilettos on that hallowed turf,” said de Mari.

“It won’t be just our top sportspeople who have used the field, but our top fashion designers now too.”

She added that BCC aimed to sell 3,600 tees during the last campaign, one for every person diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand each year.

“We blew that target out of the water. This time we’d love to sell at least 5000 tees, which would generate enough money to fund up to four breast cancer research campaigns.”

Due to limited government funding, she said New Zealand-based researchers relied on the generosity of everyday Kiwis to continue their life-changing work.

“We believe that research developed in New Zealand will lead to more precise prevention methods, earlier and more accurate diagnosis, tailored therapies and better equitable outcomes. The money from campaigns like these brings us one step closer to achieving that and contributing to powerful change in New Zealand clinical practice.”

The t-shirts will be available in both women’s and men’s sizing from the Breast Cancer Cure website starting on the 30th of September, 2025.
