Off Campus has become the third most-watched debut series in Prime Video history, reaching 36 million viewers in its first 12 days of streaming.
Among female viewers age 18-34, Off Campus is Prime Video’s #1 debut of all time.
Obsession is officially in session at Prime Video, thanks to the fans who have embraced ‘Off Campus’.
“We couldn’t be happier to see such a passionate community come together around Season 1 of creator Louisa Levy and co-showrunner Gina Fattore’s interpretation of Elle Kennedy’s beloved story,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global TV at Amazon MGM Studios.
“When you earn trust and deliver for an audience, they show up, and they’ve certainly done so for ‘Off Campus.”
Plus, in an exclusive interview with us, Australian actor Josh Heuston opened up about stepping into the passionate world of Off Campus, learning music from scratch for the role of Justin and why The Rainbow Fish might just be his dream adaptation.
He said the overwhelmingly positive response to Off Campus has been rewarding, especially because the production felt so collaborative behind the scenes.
At the heart of the show is also something deeply relatable: yearning, crushes, embarrassment and romantic overthinking. Season 1 followed the opposites attract, fake-dating romance trope between quiet songwriter, Hannah, and Briar University’s all-star hockey athlete, Garrett.
Set against the high-intensity world of college hockey, the series explores deeply personal journeys and was brought to life by a tremendously talented cast whose chemistry and authenticity make every moment feel real.
A good book. A good adaptation. A great cast. And a great soundtrack. Off Campus was everything you’d want from a sports romance without it being cringe!!!
