tonies’ latest collab will give children a completely new way to experience the world of Pokémon adventures. Children will be able to enjoy the stories of Pikachu and friends as a one-of-a-kind audio experience via the Toniebox and rediscover their beloved characters through their own imagination.
To help young listeners get off to a playful start with stories about Pikachu and friends, a professor-narrator guides them. He accompanies them through their adventures and familiarises them, step by step, with the unique characteristics of Pokémon. Along the way, children learn more about different Pokémon types, their abilities, and the role of Poké Balls on their journey to becoming a Pokémon Trainer.
The Trainer Academy is also a core part of this audio world. Which Pokémon belong to which type? What distinguishes a Fire-type Pokémon from a Water-type Pokémon? And what does it actually take to become a Trainer yourself? In a clear and age-appropriate way, the Trainer Academy teaches children about the relationships, rules, and unique traits of Pokémon, opening up new perspectives on the characters they encounter during their audio adventure. The result is an auditory experience that combines entertaining storytelling with educational elements, sparking curiosity and a spirit of discovery.
The new Pokémon Tonies enrich tonies’ audio-play universe with exclusive content developed jointly by tonies and The Pokémon Company International specifically for the Toniebox.
Coinciding with the launch, the Toniebox 2 will be available for the first time as a Special Edition in Lightning Yellow. This exclusive starter set includes the Pikachu Tonie, offering young Trainers the perfect starting point for their first adventures with Pokémon.
There will also be four New Pokémon Tonies: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Kids can now experience the four most iconic Pokémon as Tonies for the first time. Each Tonie is dedicated to one of these popular Pokémon and allows children to learn more about its unique traits, abilities, and characteristics.
