Two Icons Come Together For The ASB Classic Tennis

Aperol® is excited to be announcing a new partnership with the ASB Classic for 2024 becoming one of the official tournament sponsors.

The sponsorship will focus on elevating experiences and activations on location at the ASB Classic to entertain and enchant spectators over the course of the tournament from 1st – 13th January 2024.

This partnership will see an Italian icon, Aperol, participating at the ASB Classic for the next three years.

“We’re thrilled to be kicking off the New Year, at the tennis, by delighting ASB Classic goers with our beloved Aperol,” said Brad Madigan, Managing Director, Joint Venture of Thirsty Camel & Campari Group. “Name a more perfect duo than tennis and an Aperol.”

Celebrating the Italian aperitivo ritual, the iconic Aperol Spritz will be served up and enjoyed throughout the tournament, bringing a slice of Italy to Auckland, and creating joyful connections for all tennis fans.

Aperol will light up the sidelines with its bright orange hue and unique bittersweet profile derived from a secret recipe, which has remained unchanged for more than a century.

Aperol is becoming synonymous with Tennis throughout the world having sponsored the Australian Open in 2023 and returning as a sponsor in 2024.

“Aperol Spritz is a universal crowd pleaser and has become one of the world’s favourite alcoholic drinks. It is fantastic we have been able to partner with the ASB Classic and we look forward to bringing the joy of Aperol Spritz to New Zealand Tennis fans.”

“We are delighted to be welcoming Aperol to the ASB Classic family and look forward to them adding vibrancy to the unique atmosphere of The Serve. We believe it is a great fit and will enhance the overall fan experience,” said Nico Lamperin, Tournament Director.

For their first year activating at the ASB Classic the Aperol team will “Serve up Summer” with a summer destination activation at the Fan Zone for all tournament attendees.

“We will be serving up Aperol Spritzes while fans take a comfy seat with aperitivo snacks and enjoy all the action on the big screen,” said Madigan.

“It will also be a great destination to come and hang out in between games and make the most of the summer holidays. Being the first Aperol event of 2024 and at the height of summer, we’re looking to create a precedent for what’s to come from Aperol over the year. We’ll be surprising and delighting our existing customers and welcoming new ones with that Aperol magic celebrated all over the world.”
