Ultimate Hens Party on a Budget

With the average cost of a Hens party reaching up to NZD 614 per person, 47 percent want to spend less.

Ashleigh Phillips, a Kiwi bridesmaid living on the Gold Coast, took matters into her own hands to make her best friend’s special celebration both glamorous and affordable.

Her friends travelled from New Zealand to the Gold Coast to celebrate the bride-to-be.

Rather than splurging on an expensive hotel with a swim-up pool experience, Ashleigh transformed their budget-friendly accommodation into a Disco Cowgirl dream, complete with a DIY floating pool bar.

With creativity and savvy shopping, Ashleigh sourced everything from a local warehouse as well as Temu and turned the space into a stylish and fun setting. She found an inflatable pool floaty and transformed it into a DIY swim-up bar.

She also picked up themed decorations to create a photo wall, stylish lilos for the pool, and fun party favours for all the guests.

To add those special final touches, Ashleigh included scalloped-edge pink napkins, heart-shaped shot cups, and a matching heart-shaped ice cube mold.

A party decorating kit helped tie the theme together, while ‘Who Knows the Bride Best’ quiz cards brought an interactive element to the celebration.

For the ultimate poolside relaxation, Ashleigh provided a water lounger, air mattresses, and floating drink holders to keep beverages close to hand.

A large silver disco ball set the perfect party mood, while sparkling rose gold cupcake toppers ensured every detail reflected the bride’s fun and fabulous personality.

The result? A stunning, memorable Hens party that didn’t break the bank but still felt like a luxury experience.

Ashleigh proves that with some planning, creativity, and smart shopping, you don’t need to spend a fortune to throw an unforgettable celebration.
