WELEDA ANNOUNCES GLOBAL GARDEN WINNER

The winner of the Weleda Global Garden competition has finally been announced this morning from the Weleda Head Offices in Schwäbisch Gmund, Germany. Lauren Doolan from Melbourne, Australia took out the top prize chosen by Weleda from a pool of 16 finalists, including finalist from New Zealand, Simone Anderson.

Taking place over two months the competition, which began in August, culminated with 16 finalists from 16 different countries converging on the Weleda offices and biodynamic garden in Schwäbisch Gmund, Germany.

The finalists spent the week attending expert lead workshops, product demonstrations and interactive presentations, learning about Weleda practices and philosophy. Throughout the week the candidates were also asked to showcase their talents and skills to a panel of judges from Weleda.

Lauren will embark on an international trip next year, travelling to all the Weleda locations to learn about natural plant ingredients, spa treatments, bee projects and Rudolf Steiner from Weleda’s very own gardeners and growers.

The original criteria for the competition included someone who was a vlogger, artist, photographer, blogger or a social media star with an interest in social, economic and environmental sustainability.
