Carly Rae Jepsen has recently admitted that her global hit Call Me Maybe was a burden for her, as well as claiming she often forgets her own lyrics.
Although the hit was everyone’s favourite for the majority of 2011, Call Me Maybe was in fact a problem for the pop singer.
“It’s become a nostalgic moment in the show – and weirdly, it’s the one song in the set I’m most likely to forget the words to. Luckily the audience picks up where I left off,” said Jepsen.
“It was pure rollercoaster ‘holy s…!’ when it first came out, then it turned to, ‘Uh-oh. I don’t want that to be the only thing I’m known for.'”
The 33-year-old has since said that the song now brings her gratitude as it allowed her to have the platform she has now.
Seven years after releasing the famous hit, Jepsen is heading to New Zealand this December for her first-ever show.
