WHERE THE CITY BEGINS

Bringing together the largest concentration of high-quality retail and food and beverage in the city, a luxury hotel and the striking new PwC Tower, Commercial Bay is set to become the most transformational project Auckland has ever seen.

Never has a single project brought together the best of everything in one location – a world-class commercial space, public transport, international quality retail, public spaces, and hospitality environments, as well as striking urban design.

To celebrate the opening of Commercial Bay here’s a little look at three of its delicious dining destinations at Harbour Eats:

Sunny Town

Salivating at the thought of the perfect steamed bun? Look no further…

阳阳 (‘yangyang’), a well-known brand in China, first opened its doors in Beijing, in 1996 and now has 26 branches with four more opening soon.

Since opening the chain’s first international branch in Auckland’s CBD in late 2018, Sunny Town (as it is known in New Zealand) has been bringing tourists and locals alike Chinese cuisine in its most authentic form. Sunny Town brings some of the favourite tastes of China to Aotearoa.

From buns to noodles to the classic soybean milk, Sunny Town has options for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan options.

At Sunny Town, the team prides themselves on the quality of their ingredients and the craftsmanship of its chefs. From authentic Sichuan peppers to handcrafted dough from the North, while customers experience the traditional flavours of Chinese cuisine, Sunny Town also hopes to bring a little bit of comfort to those homesick and missing mum’s home cooked meals.

The opening of the new branch at Harbour Eats, Commercial Bay, is extremely exciting. Having only been open for less than two years, the opportunity to bring traditional Chinese culture and cuisine to a wider range of people was one that was hard to pass by. Following the months of hard work, planning and preparation, the grand opening has been long awaited.

Designed by Jack McKinney Architects, the site has a distinctive character, an eye-catcher of warmth and light. If you are shopping and you’re tired, or you’re just a little peckish, visit Sunny Town and pick up a bowl of noodles or some buns.

The team at Sunny Town are committed to providing customers with a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.

“We hope to translate our friendly, warm and buzzing environment from our current store to our new site. We welcome all to join our Sunny Town community to celebrate our rich culture and cuisine as we strive to bring you the warmth and taste of China.”

  • PHỞ – classic Viet noodle soup, this dish embodies the richness of flavour and lightness of texture of authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
