Cord Jefferson’s directorial debut, “American Fiction”, is a witty and satirical take on our society’s fixation with stereotyping individuals.
The movie features the talented Jeffrey Wright in the lead role of Monk, an aspiring writer who is frustrated with the entertainment industry’s exploitation of “Black” culture through the use of clichéd and offensive stereotypes.
In response, Monk assumes a pen name to author a provocative book that challenges the establishment’s hypocrisy and the madness he seeks to expose.
The star-studded cast of “American Fiction” includes Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, and Sterling K. Brown alongside Jeffrey Wright, who bring their unique talents to the screen and make this movie a must-watch.
