An Electrifying Experience at Giapo this Winter

Annarosa and Giapo have partnered with De’Longhi to curate new experiences to serve up at GIAPO this Winter around the affogato idea – an Italian coffee-based dessert. The affogato typically takes the form of a scoop of Vanilla Gelato “drowned” with a shot of hot espresso on top. They have played around with the concept of the affogato (which Giapo described as “kinda dull”), its elements, the ingredients and reshuffling them to create an affair that feels new and electrifying.

Starting from Friday 4 June through the chilly Auckland Winter months, GIAPO will be serving a series of new, exciting and delicious affogato concepts coupled with mouth-watering coffee from the De’Longhi PrimaDonna Soul. The first cab off the rank will be the DIPPING CONE AFFOGATO, a delicious hazelnut ice cream (the hazelnuts come from a small farm in Christchurch) on a waffle cone ready to be dipped in the hot espresso, easy to handle with a delightful waffle crunch at the end.
