Every year, thousands of tourists descend to the Australian city of Sydney to witness the spectacle that is Vivid.
The world’s biggest light installation festival, Vivid Sydney is a celebration of art and culture, and truly a glorious sight. Vivid Sydney is a collaboration of no less than 49 high-tech projections that span more than eight kilometres of Sydney’s central city area. Bursting with bright colours, patterns, and a lot of fun, Vivid Sydney has it all. Here are our top five sights you won’t want to miss if you are crossing the ditch to see it.
5: Vivid House.
An immersive, 360-degree house that hosts four interactive art displays. This year’s four main themes are “Ana,” “Australian Oceans,” “Infinity,’ and” Invincible Corals.”
This collaboration from the minds of talented local artists will create an atmosphere that will transport you to newfound lands, whilst being totally mesmerising at the same time.
4. The Vivid Light Cruise.
When listing the top most iconic parts of the city, Sydney Harbour is one of the most visited locations. Take a cruise along this famous stretch of water whilst witnessing the sights of an illuminated harbour bridge, Haymarket, and Circular Quay as just some of the highlights.
3. Light Walk.
This installation allows visitors to get up close and personal with amazing light objects. Scattered around the Circular Quay and the Rocks areas, the spectacle includes 26 light sculptures.

What’s better than seeing several hundred drones light up the sky? This impressive display has been adopted all over the world, but Sydney promises to put on the best show ever seen.
1. The Opera House.
No other landmark in the city is as iconic as the Sydney Opera House. Opened in the early 1970s, the Opera House will house stunning projections of local modern art on the famous rooftop, and being one of the most watched installations, will be a must on everybody’s list to see.
