Connecting People Through A Love of Cooking

Great news for communities! Bupa New Zealand has joined forces with the NZ Nutrition Foundation to bring the Just Cook Healthy Ageing programme to a community near you. The programme caters to people of all levels, from those who have never cut an onion to those who enjoy cooking and want to rediscover their passion.

It is essential to understand that as people age, their nutritional needs change and the programme focuses on teaching individuals how to read labels and the food groups they need to eat to support their health. The programme is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and enhance overall well-being.

The programme’s goal is to create connections through cooking while teaching basic cooking skills, boosting confidence, and increasing knowledge of basic nutrition for older individuals who are learning to cook for the first time. Currently, the four-session programme is offered in three Bupa Retirement Villages in Auckland, Wellington and Invercargill, and it is open to everyone. Priscilla Collins, who has facilitated the course for four years, leads the Just Cook Healthy Ageing programme.

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity!

Dates: Cook Healthy Ageing programme (JCHA) at Hugh Green Village starts May 5th; the second JCHA programme at Fergusson Village starts April 20th, and the second JCHA programme at Ascot Village starts May 10th. For upcoming scheduled dates and more information, click here
