Outland Denim x Karen Walker

Outland Denim and Karen Walker have collaborated to create a limited-edition six-piece denim collection. Using signature Karen Walker styles combined with the two brand’s shared ethos around consumption patterns, this “co-design capsule…was an obvious choice”, says Outland Denim’s CEO and founder, James Bartle.

“Karen Walker and Outland are both committed to creating well-designed and well-crafted pieces that are enjoyed and worn for many decades”, “the pieces in this capsule are a testament to that” explains Walker.

Karen Walker is a renowned NZ brand, with clear missions of being sustainable and ethical. We are so excited to see this collaboration with Outland Denim. The values of these two brands mesh so well together, it can only mean one thing: a work of wonders!

“We’re honoured to partner with Outland and support them in creating enduring social change for women in vulnerable positions,” says Walker.

Outland Denim began in 2011 with the mission to give formerly enslaved or exploited young women an opportunity in a more ethical employment pathway. Through training and opening up their main production house in Cambodia, the brand has been able to give previously vulnerable women a stable and enjoyable job. Outland Denim helps to rebuild employee’s future in terms of training and career progression.

This collaboration features the Sage Jean, a cropped flare, the Rhythm Skirt, a wrapped mini and the Goldie Jacket, inspired by the classic worker’s jacket. This collection features off white and indigo denim made from organic cotton. The Drummer Girl T-shirt also features a never-seen-before print, designed especially for this capsule collection.
