After 15 years of development, a company in the US has finally released a fruit with its very own Instagram page.
The product by Del Monte – officially named Pinkglow Pineapples – comes after the company received approval from the United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2016. The fruit isn’t cheap though, selling online for USD$50 per pineapple!
However, it does come with a certificate of authenticity (so you know it isn’t a fake pink pineapple – or perhaps an ordinary pineapple just dyed pink).
According to the company, the pineapples come from Costa Rica and can take as long as 24 months to grow. They are also both juicier and sweeter than traditional pineapples.
