Review | The Secrets We Keep

Set in post-World War II America, Romanian woman Maja, played by Noomi Rapace, is rebuilding her life in the suburbs with her husband and child. Then she hears a man whistle in the street.

The whistle triggers a terrifying memory of being raped by a Nazi soldier in the war and acting on it, she follows the man and plans vengeance, but is he the man or not?

It’s well-acted and even if the plot has been told before, with its a slightly predictable outcome, this drama of morals with an end twist keeps the audience engaged and involved.

On my scale of did my bum go to sleep, this movie storyline, acting and plot twist kept me interested in the characters to the very end. Not an easy achievement with the offerings of late.
