BLUNT has revolutionised the umbrella market and has teamed up with artist Flox (aka Hayley King).
Flox is one of New Zealand’s most celebrated contemporary artists, recognised for her hand-cut stencils and vibrant trademark style of fauna and flora. Flox has had two very successful collaborations with BLUNT prior.
Flox has built a reputation on her love of nature and attributed the natural heritage of the Far North for the influence on her work.
This third collaboration with BLUNT features a mix of native New Zealand and Australian birds and botanicals. Flox describes this collection as an opportunity to pay tribute to the relationship we have with our neighbours across the ditch, whilst at the same time illustrating a sense of national identity.
“This moment in our time has forced us to think about where we are in the world, who we are as a nation and how we move forward collectively. The artwork intertwines aspects of both New Zealand and Australian birds and botanicals signifying an age-old friendship, and a symbol of the alliance we share,” said King.
The limited-editions Metro umbrellas are now available online in New Zealand, Australia and the UK and other select stores such as David Jones and Smith & Caughey’s.
