Taste Your Way To Adelaide Hills

Taste Your Way To Adelaide Hills

The Adelaide Hills’ reputation as a premier food and wine region continues to grow, with the addition of a new self-drive trail.

The Adelaide Hills Harvest & Bloom Trail connects more than 18 farms and seasonal experiences across the region. It is designed to be explored at your own pace, encouraging travellers to visit orchards, flower farms, kitchen gardens and artisan producers.

Trail highlights

• Multi-generational family farms: some producers span up to six generations, including Bishop Orchards, who have been growing cherries since 1871

• Guided and hands-on experiences: a dog-led truffle hunt through wine country with Adelaide Hills Truffle Company and bouquet-making workshops at Blumenfeld Flowers

• Pick-your-own across the seasons: cherries, apples, berries and lavender, with farms like Glen Ewin Estate (figs) and Atkins Farm’s PYO sunflower fields

• Farm gate produce and tastings: jams, cider, fig gin and local wine at stops including Beerenberg, Gooseberry Hill Farm and Bishop Orchards’ cellar door

For Kiwi travellers, the trail is an easy day trip from Adelaide and a fresh way to experience the region’s renowned food and wine offering. They can download a free trail map and seasonal picking calendar to help plan their route and time their visit to the region’s harvests in bloom.

Getting there is easier than ever. Air New Zealand offers direct flights from Auckland to Adelaide five times weekly, along with a twice-weekly service from Christchurch restarting in October 2026.
