Transformers is one of the most popular movie and television franchises around the world, and a particular fan favourite in Hong Kong. This has led to the first-ever immersive Transformers-themed restaurant called The Ark, which opened on April 23rd, 2023.
The restaurant’s design has been based on the concept of The Ark, which is the large spaceship used by the Autobots in the Transformers series. The immersive experience follows the story of The Ark landing in Hong Kong due to energy depletion.
Transformers: The Ark restaurant is the first to integrate 3D media content and effects in Hong Kong, and is located in the Causeway Bay district. The facade features a three-dimensional spaceship engine at its entrance, as well as LED screens showcasing 3D animation to immerse guests into the world of Transformers.
Each dish at The Ark is carefully crafted by the A La Carte chefs, food scientists and culinary experts. Popular characters Bumble Bee and Optimus Prime are also on hand, located in the “Food Lab,” assisting the chefs. Meals in the restaurant are delivered to customers through virtual conveyer belts that run through the restaurant.
The restaurant’s signature dishes are specially created Transformers-themed burgers, made from premium ingredients, and all burger buns are made with whole wheat flour and filled with four types of fresh organic hydroponic vegetables and fillings. Grain-fed Angus beef is also used to make the patties.
The Ark is also connected to a Transformers gift shop, that sells official Transformers merchandise, and the first of its kind in Hong Kong. The restaurant will also release its own bespoke collectables and exclusive figurines.
There are also hidden surprises to discover throughout the restaurant for a dining experience that is truly More Than Meets the Eye.
