Vanderbilt & Steinem Inspire Kate Sylvester AW’24

Two iconic Glorias inspire Kate Sylvester’s Autumn Winter collection this year, showcasing an unlikely friendship that develops between artist, designer and socialite Gloria Vanderbilt and feminist activist and journalist Gloria Steinem.

With shades of olive, wine, deep blue paired with smoke and camel, the collection pays tribute to the effortless 70s style synonymous with Steinem.

Hints of coral, teal, geranium pink and lavender and Sylvester’s larger-than-life take on denim are also featured in the collection.

An oversized belted denim trench layered over a box-shaped vest and the tailored wide-leg Steinem trousers, all embroidered with the Kswan monogram, nod to the Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans.

Slouchy checkerboard knitwear is elevated with a luxe sheen and is paired with an oversized wool blazer in olive green tones.

Vanderbilt’s influence of Upper East Side sophistication is revealed in the luxe fabrics, floral motifs, and a wine-red shift dress with an adjustable ruffled neckline and tailored wool suiting in coral.

Another elegant reference to her style is seen in the satin jumpsuit and an intricately pleated dress.

Gloria Gloria is polished and progressive and balances Vanderbilt’s glamour and Steinem’s irreverent effortlessness.

The collection evokes an independent spirit and all the glorious, gritty glamour of New York and will be available from February 2024.
