Virgin Australia has teamed up with Auckland eatery ‘The White Lady’ to give away hundreds of free burgers. Turning up the heat on rival Air New Zealand this is the latest progress in the in-flight burger saga. This Wednesday between 12 pm and 2 pm in Britomart’s Takutai Square, the renown burger joint will hand out 500 free king burgers – made up of NZ beef, melted cheese, onions, a fried egg, and lettuce.

Virgin Australia’s kiwi based ‘Got Beef’ campaign is a nationwide search to find the country’s best meat supplied for Tran Tasman flights following rivals Air New Zealand’s publicised partnership with the United States creator of the synthetic burger. Air New Zealand aims to serve the meatless burger to premium passengers on flights between Auckland and Los Angeles from October, a promotion for their newly announced direct flight.
