What’s new for Nintendo Switch 2?
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition introduces a suite of enhancements designed to make island life richer, smoother and even more charming. Expect:
- Crisp upgraded visuals up to 4K in TV mode for dreamy, ultra-detailed island views
- Mouse-style pointer controls via the right Joy-Con 2, perfect for precision decorating and designing
- Real-world voice interaction using the console microphone so you can call villagers by name with an in-game megaphone
- Expanded online play for up to 12 friends at once
- CameraPlay support that lets you plug in a compatible USB camera and see friends react live in-game
Players who already own the original version can also purchase an upgrade pack, available for preorder from today.
Alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 edition, a free update lands on the same day for both platforms, bringing new content and expanded gameplay.
