On Tuesday 6th November, be sure to head out early to catch the “race that stops two nations” – the Melbourne Cup.
Live coverage can be found at Ellerslie Racecourse, with the Lexus Melbourne Cup race airing on super screens for all to enjoy. Ellerslie is the only racecourse in New Zealand that holds a race meeting on Melbourne Cup day, giving Kiwis a space to join in the action.
There will be an afterparty once the horses have gone to bed, including fashion judging, champagne, and events on the course itself.
General admission is free – everyone should enjoy the Melbourne Cup. Hospitality tickets start at $85, and there are limited private areas and corporate marquee sites available. The Lexus Melbourne Cup race will broadcast on super screens at 5 pm, and the last race held at Ellerslie will start at 6 pm.
The event will open at 11 am, with the first race at Ellerslie starting at 12.10pm. The afterparty will end at 9 pm.
