Iconic Denim Collab Strikes Again!

Iconic Kiwi designer Karen Walker joined forces with Outland Denim for their new collection, and you won’t want to miss it. The happy take on wardrobe staples has a carefully curated section of denim, embodying a sustainable and socially responsible denim collection that is to die for.

The seven-piece collection is inspired by Walker’s iconic silhouettes while juggling a sense of duality and durability. Nostalgia is bound to hit you when looking at the collection because the Aeronautical jumpsuit and Duster jeans have returned, this time in new shades.

The collection’s colours are dark indigo and washed denim, which offer range and timeless appeal.

Walker and Outland must have known we needed some new jeans for autumn because the collection also featured new straight-leg and flared-leg jeans with a cure utility shirt to match. Who said double denim was out of style?

“This collection is threaded together by the shared ethos of both our brands and our communities: mindful consumption and purposeful choices,” said Karen Walker.

“Each piece represents both brands’ dedication to creating pieces that our customers can feel proud about investing in and will enjoy for many years.”

If you don’t know much about Outland Denim, let me remind you. The Australian-founded brand was established in 2011, driven by providing training and employment to young women who had been enslaved or exploited. The brand has had a production facility in Cambodia and has expanded its support to reach a broader number of women.

The fabrics used in this collection have been selected because they are lyocell, recycled, and organic cotton, which commits the brands to environmental responsibility.

So not only are the garments to die for, but they also promote female empowerment. Count me in.

“We are proud to collaborate with Karen Walker,” stated Outland Denim founder James Bartle.

“This partnership merges Karen’s distinctive design with our manufacturing in a way that genuinely reflects the principles both brands stand for.”

Each piece in the collection is a testament to the power of conscious fashion. It aims to minimise harm to the planet while empowering the artisans who create it.

The goal was clear: designing clothing that looks great, ages well, and contributes positively to the community and environment.
