Life Needs A Biscuit

Griffin’s has released a first-of-its-kind mini-documentary series capturing the stories across 24 hours in New Zealand.

Titled Life Needs A Biscuit, the series of shorts follows 24 real people from across the country, mapping the rhythm of a day through the pauses in their daily lives.

From 6 am with Joa,nn, who shares the ups and downs of divorced life, to 11 pm on the night shift with Oluwatusin, a Nigerian migrant making New Zealand home, the series showcases the kinds of stories that make up real life in New Zealand.

Beginning at the crack of dawn in the South, weaving up through the 3 pm slump in Auckland, and on to the far north, the mini-docs capture the quiet moments when Kiwis pause and treat themselves to a biscuit.

Griffin’s biscuits are part of these small moments in homes, workplaces and communities across New Zealand every day. Kiwis’ attachment to the brand runs deep.

Every hour of every day, someone somewhere in New Zealand eats a Griffin’s biscuit. This project set out to capture a living snapshot of a day in the life of New Zealand.

While nostalgia is powerful, Life Needs A Biscuit shows Griffin’s involvement in modern New Zealand life amid the profound and mundane.

Directed by filmmaker and documentarian Florian Habicht, the 24 snapshots of Kiwi life will be released across TV, socials and streaming platforms.
