World-leading sports brand PUMA and leak-proof apparel brand Modibodi have joined forces to launch a line of reusable leak-free period underwear and activewear that keeps women comfortable and active throughout their periods while positively impacting the environment.
Driven by the belief that everyone who wishes to engage in physical activity should be given a chance to do so, PUMA and Modibodi have formed an exclusive global alliance under the “She Moves Us” platform.
“Even in the 21st century, periods and leaks still prevent women from participating in sports. Studies have revealed that girls’ sports participation drops from 69 percent to 45 percent. Additionally, the single-use plastic from disposable products can continue to pollute the environment for hundreds of years,” said Erin Longin, Global Director Run/Train at PUMA. “As a global brand, we felt it important to do our part to address this issue. The PUMA x Modibodi collaboration allows women to stay active, without having to worry about leaks, while reducing their monthly waste from period products.”
Disposable products are environmentally harmful and more costly in the long run compared to reusable, sustainable alternatives. The PUMA x Modibodi collection was crafted to be reused and completely replace disposable pads, liners, and tampons, while offering comfort, eliminating odours, and providing protection from leaks of any kind (not just periods). This is achieved via Modibodi’s proprietary Modifier Technology featuring a soft top layer, made of moisture and sweat-wicking merino wool, a fast-drying absorbent microfibre middle layer, that locks away fluid and odour, and waterproof protection in the bottom layer.

In support of the new collection, together with PUMA’s She Moves Us charity partner, “Women Win,” PUMA and Modibodi will be donating a bundle pack of five briefs to five hundred girls and women in need. Each bundle will cover an individual’s monthly period cycle for up to four years, enabling them to confidently partake in sport and the things they love without worrying about life’s leaks.
The new PUMA x Modibodi active underwear collection will arrive in May 2022 in selected stores and online.
