The team behind Beach Booch is Alistair Kirk and George Wielechowski, good friends who first dreamt up the idea together while visiting George in his home town of San Diego. However, it was ‘brainstorming’ late into the night in Auckland a year later, when the idea gathered a non-stopping-momentum. Along with their wives Sarah and Alison, the team is on a mission to make the best hard kombucha right here in Aotearoa and take it to the world, celebrating it all, Kiwi style! Each flavour has been carefully curated and handcrafted by their Chief Brewer Josh Makler, blending smooth, organic live kombucha, double fermented and balanced with organic fruit and botanicals, inspired by unique Kiwi hotspots.
For George and Alistair, this was all about offering consumers something better; a lower sugar, organic, alternative alcohol so people could enjoy a get-together without all of the nasty after-effects.
“This is all about celebrations with good friends. Long lazy lunches, weekend bach holidays, impromptu nights,” says George Wielechowski. “Beach Booch is about finding better alternatives so you can celebrate it all, never compromising!”
Beach Booch is batch made, retaining its low sugar gorgeousness. It started with organic green and black tea, organic cane sugar and kick-started with Beach Booch live culture. The resulting smooth kombucha is fermented again to produce the right amount of alcohol and blended with unique flavours that celebrate our favourite New Zealand beach towns.
The team’s favourite beaches inspire beach Booch, and beaches, celebrated in their first three launch flavours: 90 Mile Booch, transports you to Northland’s endless golden sands in a beautiful citrus/spice combination of Grapefruit & Ginger. Ocean Boochis a sultry East Coast summer night, with a blend of Peach & Chilli(adding just a touch of warmth and smoke), and Raglan Booch says “cheers” to Kiwi black sand beaches and wild Raglan surf with a combination of Berry, Lemon & Sage. It’s summer in a can, all year long.
