The One Skincare Step You Shouldn’t Skip

Exfoliating has many skincare benefits, from breaking down oils to clearing clogged pores, it’s the one step you don’t want to leave out of your skincare routine!

Certified Dematologist and Skin Proud Consultant, Dr Marisa Garshick is an advocate for the benefits of exfoliating and shared some tricks to make sure you’re getting it right.

Firstly, only exfoliate two to three times a week. Exfoliating too often can irritate your skin and lead to dryness and sensitivity.

Dr Garshick also recommends making sure to include sun protection in your skincare routine, especially after exfoliating as it increases your sensitivity to the sun.

Finally, choose an exfoliator that is right for your skin, a good place to start is to choose a product with gentle ingredients and exfoliating acids such as lactic acid and glycolic acid.
