Vacations Made Easier

Planning a vacation can take a lot of energy, especially if you do it alone.

Booking.com has made this more accessible by launching its AI trip planner, Beta, in Australia and New Zealand.

With the AI Trip Planner, you can get answers to general travel questions or delve into more specific queries. It’s your one-stop solution for everything from choosing destinations and accommodations to creating detailed itineraries.

So, basically, you only need to book your flights, and Booking.com will handle the rest!

In a recent study conducted by Booking.com, nearly a third of Millennials and Gen Z consumers said they are likely to use AI when planning travel in 2024. Over one-quarter of Kiwi travellers said they will likely use AI to plan travel when booking holiday homes.

“Over the past year, our AI Trip Planner has provided us with new possibilities to help customers plan and search for travel options in a very natural, human way, and we’re excited to now launch in Australia and New Zealand,” said Rob Francis, CTO of Booking.com.

“With generative AI, we can start having scalable, one-to-one conversations with our customers on their terms, much like how you would begin to talk about planning a trip with your partner or friends.”

“It’s just the beginning, but we have lots of runways here to explore, innovate, and connect the travel experience further on Booking.com, all in a safe, ethical and inclusive way.”

Travellers can easily chat with the AI Trip Planner to ask questions and refine their search in real-time, with new options surfacing in seconds. From inspiration on a romantic beach destination to the best places to visit in winter, the AI Trip Planner will have you covered.

The AI Trip Planner takes the trip planning process one step further by providing travellers with a visual list of destinations and properties, including Booking.com’s pricing, with links to more details.

Travellers can switch between chatting with the AI Trip Planner and using the Booking.com app to consider trip options.

They can complete the reservation in the app by tapping on the type of booking they require, from accommodation to attractions.
