If you’re a plant lover, you’ve been the usual big chains like Kings Plant Barn, Bunnings and Mitre 10. But where do people go to find trendy houseplants? Here are some of our favourite plant shops we spend more time hanging around in that we’d like to admit. Plant lovers, this one’s for you.
The Plant Project
The Plant Project should definitely be on your online plant store radar. Born out of a love for nature, design and making people happy – Jenna and Marisa’s mission is to bring you beautiful, quality plants and planters that will transform you home into a tranquil living space.
This Marble Queen pictured here (definitely on my wish list), is absolutely gorgeous and highly sought after in the plant world – trust me. They’re hard to come by at your local Bunnings or Mitre 10, so a store like The Plant Project, will always have you covered with your Pinterest-inspired trendy indoor plants dream.
Plant Base
Plant Base is driven by sustainability. Not only is their shop in Albany, North Shore, the cosiest little number ever, but it is also filled with gorgeous indoor/outdoor plants, great coffee, and eco-friendly items. Everything you need, all in one place.
The team at Plant Base are knowledgable, so for beginner plant mum’s like myself, it’s perfect. Firing 100 questions per minute about watering, sunlight, and overall plant facts – they still seem to have a smile on their face. I guess, they really do love plants after all – what a shocker!
The Green Room Flower Co.
The Green Room Flower Co. is a florist and a plant shop all in one. From potted string of pearls to air purifying peace lilies. The choice is yours. Located in crafty hub in Wanaka, The Green Room Flower Co. is always filled with freshly cut blooms, hanging plants, artwork and coffee table books (about plants, of course).
Pick up a gorgeous bouquet and a potted plant – they just go hand in hand!
White Tree Floral Design
Here we see a Monstera Monkey Mask – and again, definitely on my plant wish list. This is from the lovely White Tree Floral located in Orakei, Auckland. Again, with an in-house florist to sort out all your bouquet needs, but also with a gorgeous selection of indoor plants. From strings of fishhooks to philodendron birkins – it’s the destination for the best selection of trendy indoor plants.
