Suicide Squad was amazing but it was nothing like what I was expecting…
It ended up going in a totally different direction than what I thought it would from the trailers. It was edited strangely and I felt like all the best parts of the trailer were just flash backs? Long story short you should watch the movie no matter what I say to convince you otherwise, but here are my Pros and Cons of Suicide Squad.
PROS
- One of the first times we meet the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) and there is this AMAZING edit of how their hands touch and it is freaking glorious. That’s the moment where I was like ‘Yeah this is going to be f*cking great’.
- Harley Quinn and the Joker is pure love and I want more of it. NOW. Please hurry up with a second movie (just about those two).
- The cinematography
- Harley Quinn’s acrobatics and duel characters. She rocked both characters (pre/post Joker) and put Cara to shame.
- I know what I want to be for Halloween.
CONS
- I expected more batman? And I HATE Ben Affleck as Batman. But I mean, come on in this giant storm of action there was no batman?
- Ben Affleck as Batman in the flashbacks. (He just sucks, okay?)
- Cara Delevingne what are you up to? I mean your witch was okay, but I really expected more from her other character as Jane. I think she could’ve been presented and played that role a whole lot more. It was either the directors fault of how she was portrayed or she really just can’t act.
- Unnecessary pop songs? It felt like every time there was a calm moment or if the director was reviewing the film and was like “Mmm… this scene needs something… I KNOW LET’S ADD ANOTHER POP SONG.”
- Will Smith, what’s good?
*SPOILER* I wanted more of the Joker throughout the whole movie, and it was strange that he wasn’t utilized because he was the most memorable/advertised character of the whole movie.- Everyone is going to be Harley Quinn and the Joker for Halloween.
I know there are more cons than pros above, but it’s honestly still a great great great movie. Just not movie of the year which is what I was hoping it would be. Also I can’t believe that there is a petition for angry fans against the bad reviews of Suicide Squad on Rotten Tomatoes. The website hosts other reviews and can’t control the freedom of speech. COME ON GUYS, chill out.
