Eat, Drink, Play at Wellington’s Two-week Spectacle

Wellington, it’s time to enjoy two weeks of fun and games with singers, stars, soul food, and many exciting offers.

Start your 1st of July weekend with The Realm, a mid-winter jazz fest with warm winter dishes, a glass of merlot and, of course, a whole lot of jazz.

To get rid of your mid-week blues, indulge in some holiday festivities at the Old Bailey on the 6th of July, 2023. This authentic British pub has the charm of wintry Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere with its traditional Scotch egg, roast chicken, soup and pudding. They also have a mid-year gift-giving initiative for the Wellington City Mission.

Another weekend calls for another night of jazz and blues at Jack Hackett’s. They will be hosting nine female singers in honour of the nine stars of Matariki. Make sure to try their limited edition Hello Pork Pie, paired with Emerson’s Rebel Red Ale.

A new year cannot be celebrated without a great New Year’s Eve party. Head over to Dirty Little Secret, grab some limited edition drinks like The Whetū or a Smores Martini and dance all night long as Tia Ward and DJ Pet provide a great musical experience on Matariki.

Concrete, popularly known for its unique Kiwi cocktails, has curated a set of nine cocktails for the Matariki cluster. St. Johns will serve the meals of everyone’s childhood memories with its Aotearoa soul food menu. These will be through the entirety of the two weeks from the 1st to the 16th of July.
